2024/25 JUNIOR & SENIOR REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!
In February 2025, the Club held it's first ever Pink Stumps Day to raise money and awareness for cancer, with all proceeds going to the McGrath Foundation.
Three teams of Dads from our junior program competed for Pink Stumps Day honours, with our team from Hartwell Primary School coming out on top!
Thank you to Hartwell Physiotherapy for sponsoring the day, donating our wonderful playing apparel, as well as a number of businesses which donated to our silent auctions, which helped achieve our fundraising total.
John Sandy celebrated his 400th game for the club in the last round of 2024.
Vice President Nick Hooper said, "A member of the Camels prior to the merger, John has put in extensive time at the club holding roles on the Committee, being the Junior Co-ordinator, running the Blasters, a Captain and a Coach of the juniors. Recently he became a Premiership player and celebrated for the best part of a week! “Jonty” as he is affectionately known, knows how to celebrate in style!
Jonty is predominantly a fine batsman, having scored over 6600 runs for the club with 24 half centuries and a highest score of 102. With the ball, his slow mediums have earned him over 80 wickets! Clubs are all the better for people like Jonty and he deserves every accolade for what he has done over a long period of time."
In November 2024, the Club was given the keys to the brand new pavilion at Lynden Park.
Gender inclusive change rooms, larger social area and kitchen and improved amenties are just some of the highlights of the $6m State and Local Government project. An upgrade to our top oval playing surface and new cricket nets is another feature of the redevelopment
The Club celebrated with a Grand Opening Function on 30 November with hundreds of attendees across our junior and senior programs.
In 2023/24, our star-studded u12s went undefeated en route to a magnificent premiership in a grand final victory over Glen Iris.
Congratulations to coach Andrew Frawley and the team on a wonderful season - the Club could not be more proud!
Continuing a remarkably successful on-field period for the Club, the Bulls won two premierships in 2023/24!
The 2nd XI completed a Cinderella season, winning their last six matches to win the Menzies & Mackay Shield by 127 runs against Trinity Willison.
On the same day, our veteran 3rd XI also won their Grand Final over West Ivanhoe by 34 runs to give the Bulls double premiership glory.
In the space of two months, three significant milestones were reached by life members and legends of the Club.
Andrew Hillyer became only the 3rd Bull to reach the 500 game milestone, the culmination of over 30 years of on and off field service to the Club.
A dedicated Clubman for the best part of 40 years, Darren Read then played his 400th match alongside brother Neville.
The next match, fellow life member Darren Earp also reached the 300 game milestone.
30,000 runs, 500 wickets, 15 premierships and 50+ years on the Committee combined, the contribution that these Bulls have made to our Club cannot be underestimated.
Recognised for their exceptional contribution to the Bulls over 20+ years, Kieran & Jo Colgan were this year winner's of Bendigo Bank's Community Champion Award.
The Club also received $5,000 as prize money for this award, and we thank Bendigo Bank's continued support of our Club.
In Season 2023/24, the Club is excited to announce that it is fielding its first ever Girls team.
A proud moment for the Club as our superstar girls pave the way for many generations of girls and womens cricketers to come.
Well done to team manager Emma Tottenham for driving this project and new Head Coach Sunny Mirchandani for leading our girls through their first season.
We can't wait to see what our girls can achieve!
Burwood Uniting Canterbury Cricket Club have referred their 10th loan to Major Sponsor Bendigo Bank Canterbury, Surrey Hills, and Ashburton Branches - which has earned the club an extra $15,000 on top of the $10,000 from the combined referral bonuses.
We'd like to thank all our members who received or referred a loan to help us reach this milestone!
Thanks to Aaron and Anna from Bendigo Bank for their continued support. The program will continue however, and we are striving for the next milestone being our 20th loan!
The success of the Burwood Uniting Canterbury Cricket Club juniors program is a highlight across their two premierships in Burt Shield and Carr Shield.
8 of our 1st XI premiership players played juniors for our club - a fantastic achievement.
Dubbed WINGS, this program is a mental health support system set up to provide psychology sessions to our members, free of charge!
At the Bulls, we strongly believe in the role we have to play in reducing the stigma surrounding mental health and ensure that every single member of our club is able to get the support they need, when they need it.
Ball one of Shayne Blackwell's 7th over was a full toss which fell short of the square leg boundary and was caught. Next ball, caught behind with a great catch by Hillsy before it happened - a cross-seam straight ball nicked to Darren Earp to complete Shayne's Hatrick.
A nice moment was shared between Jake and Shayne as the brothers embraced in a moment of joy and pride in memory of their Father, Tony.
