-
To provide:
- Enjoyment for all.
- Development of basic skills.
- Development of Team Spirit and Co-operation.
- Equal opportunity for all to participate.
- Development of a balanced attitude to competition.
General principles relating to Junior Cricket
- ALL players are to be given the maximum opportunity for QUALITY participation in ALL aspects of the game, in a safe and secure environment.
- ALL players should be made to feel that they have contributed to, or are making a contribution, however small, to the team effort.
- ALL players should be aware that encouraging and supporting ALL team mates is essential to success.
- ALL players should be aware of the etiquette and traditions of the game of cricket and be encouraged to abide by these at all times.
- ALL players are entitled to quality advice in the development of the skills of the game of cricket.
It should be noted that many studies have shown that winning has never been a high priority in the minds of junior cricketers. Regrettably it is so in the minds of many parents and coaches, however, slowly but surely they are being eradicated and we are pleased to say that this Club and the Association have led the way in this respect.
